AERIAL PHOTOGRAMMETRIC IMAGERY

Aerial photogrammetric imagery is the result of aerial acquisition using aerial photogrammetric camera installed in the fuselage of an airplane, whereas the geometric data on features or events on physical land surface are collected through the application of fundamental technological principles of photogrammetry.

Aerial photogrammetric acquisition over the territory of the Republic of Serbia, within the topographic survey framework, is being performed periodically, pursuant to the medium-term program and annual plan of works of the Republic Geodetic Authority. The medium-term program and annual plan of works of the Republic Geodetic Authority stipulate, among the other things, the territories and the periods for acquisition.

The Republic Geodetic Authority disposes with the digital aerial photogrammetric imagery obtained for the photogrammetric acquisition during the epochs of 2007-2010 and 2011-2013.

The aerial photogrammetric acquisition 2007-2010 has been performed using surface scanners Vexcel UCX and UCXp, under the CARDS program of the European Union. Aerial photogrammetric imagery GSD 10 cm, 20 cm and 40 cm have been acquired.

The implementation of the aerial photogrammetric acquisition 2011-2013 has been completed using surface scanners Vexcel UCX and UCXp and the linear sensor Leica ADS80, under the Project of establishing the National Spatial Data Infrastructure and Remote Sensing Center of the Republic of Serbia - IGIS Project. The aerial photogrammetric imagery obtained through this acquisition have GSD 10 cm and 40 cm.

Due to the continuous improvement of the resolution and general characteristics of satellite imagery, as well as the more efficient implementation of the acquisition and processing itself, the Republic Geodetic Authority fulfills its legal obligation for periodic aerial acquisition over the territory of the Republic of Serbia in the last two epochs (2015-2016 and 2020-2021) through satellite acquisition.

Collected aerial photogrammetric imagery from previous expeditions, as well as black-and-white aerial films, now constitute the rich archive of the Republic Geodetic Authority, and the publication of the content is regulated by the Law and republic administrative fees.
