Thematic maps are cartographic representations of the most diverse topics from the natural and social area related to space, represented by special methods that show thematic content. One or more topographic and other features with different characteristics can be highlighted and displayed on such maps.
Presently, the issue of environment and nature protection in Serbia is very topical, and for this purpose a significant number of maps have been created: national parks, landscapes of exceptional qualities, special nature reserves and nature parks. These maps are also hiking-tourist maps, because in addition to natural heritage, they also contain cultural heritage, hiking trails and other tourist content. Road maps and city plans are also produced from thematic maps. Maps are made in digital and analog form.

Thematic maps have a wide range of uses: from cultural, economic to scientific purposes.
Thematic maps are also produced upon request.
